About Me

Hi my name's Andy.

Growing up as a Jewish kid in Melbourne, Australia, I loved the magic of Santa. 

While other kids on my street wrote their wish lists and took their photo with Santa at the mall, I could only watch on. "Sorry Andy, you're Jewish. Santa's not for you," my mum would say.

I learned to live, Santa-less, until I became a dad. Then it happened. One day, I was walking down the street with my son Raph and we saw an elderly religious Jewish man in his Hassidic black coat and hat, with a long grey beard. Raph, who was only 4 yelled out, "SANTA, SANTA!"

That's when it struck me like a snowball straight out of the North Pole. Santa is Jewish too! 

With the help of my wonderfully talented friend and illustrator Pete Petrovic, we put this Jewish Santa book together for all the kids and families out there who love Santa.
